Charles H. Solinger

Charles H. Solinger, Jr. 83, of Cortland, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Forum Health - Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. He was born March 21, 1925 in Champion, the son of Charles H. Solinger, Sr. and Helen (Wilcox) Solinger Perry, and had lived in Trumbull County all his life.

Mr. Solinger was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served two tours of duty in Korea. He worked 20 years in sales for Morgan Lumber. A 53-year member of Old Erie Lodge #3, F. & A.M., he also belonged to Leading Star #79, Newton Falls, and was a 50-year member of Morning Light Chapter #80, Order of the Eastern Star. He attended Beacon of Hope Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Lois (Mushrush) Solinger, whom he married April 30, 1955; three children: Gary D. Solinger of Warren, Valerie J. Solinger and husband David Richards of Champion, and Larry T. Solinger and special friend Judy Rudesill of Warren; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Sheely; and a brother Wesley Solinger. Preceding him in death are his parents; his stepfather, Roy Perry; a sister, Eileen Dean; and a brother, Ralph Solinger.

A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2008 at Beacon of Hope Baptist Church, with Rev. Garry Hennessey officiating. Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Material contributions may be made to Beacon of Hope Baptist Church, 3559 N. Park Ave., Warren, Ohio 44483.
