Howland Twp. - Charles W. Marin, age 81, passed away on January 21, 2014. He was born on November 28, 1932 in Warren, and was the beloved son of Charles M. and Virginia (Reed) Marin.

Charles worked for Gentek (Alcan) in an administrative position, retiring in 1997. Charles served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a J.A. Advisor, and was a Kappa Sigma Kappa. Charles enjoyed many things such as golfing, but mostly he truly loved spending time with his family.

Memories of Charles will be carried on by his beloved wife, Helen (Goist) Marin, whom he married October 22, 1960. A daughter, Carla (Bill) Merkel of Aurora, a son, Charles M. (Stephanie) Marin of Cortland, grandchildren, Will (Tracie) Merkel of Streetsboro, John and Sarah Merkel of Aurora, Brianna and Charlie Marin of Cortland, a sister, Vivian Teel of Volcanoville, CA. Preceding him in death were his parents, and a sister Marie Platt.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish at the St. James Church site, 2532 Burton St. SE, Warren, Ohio, 44484 with Fr. Jeffrey Stealey officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

The family asks that material contributions be made in honor of Charles to St Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 185 Laird Avenue NE, Warren, Ohio, 44483.
