Cecelia Limber

Cecelia Limber, 94 of Cortland passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 in Princeton West Virginia where she was staying with her daughter Kathleen.

She was born on Aug. 21, 1921, in Youngstown, Ohio to John and Mary Rodgers Hughes.

She graduated from Champion High School and Trumbull Business College. She was employed at Denman tires before working at her family owned business.

On Aug. 16, 1944, she married John Westley Limber. Together, they opened and ran Limber Plumbing and Heating for many years. Surviving Cecelia are her sons John (Mary) Limber Of Cleveland, OH, and Joseph Limber Of Cortland, two daughters, Sister Kathleen Limber of Princeton West Virginia and Susan (Dennis) Clancy of Defiance, Oh. She also leaves 7 grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Cecelia was a member of St. Roberts Church of Cortland and the Children's Conservation League (CCL) for over 50 years. She enjoyed her monthly card club, reading, she read 3 newspapers a day, and she dearly enjoyed her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She believed in the power of the Rosary and said her Rosary everyday.

Cecelia is preceeded in death by her husband, John, who passed 12/14/1999, her daughter, Diane Limber, brothers, Paul Hughes, and Robert Hughes and sister Louise Hughes.

Friends and family may call from 4-8 on Wednesday, 2/3/2016 at McFarland and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, 2/4/2016 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Roberts Bellamine Parish in Cortland , Ohio with Father Carl Kish officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that donations can be made to the Building Maintenance Fund at St. Roberts Bellamine Parish, 4659 Niles Cortland Rd. NE Cortland, OH 44410 or the retirement fund for Holy Humilaty of Mary Sisters 225 Villa Marie Rd. Pulaski, PA 16143.
