Catherine E. Wood

Catherine E. Wood, 94, of Warren, died Friday, March 5, 2010 at Forum Health - Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born February 22, 1916 in Sault Sainte Marie, Mich., the daughter of Benjamin S. and Katherine (Scharenhorst) Wood, and had lived in Trumbull County most of her life.

A 1934 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, she studied the comptometer in Youngstown before beginning her career in the payroll department of Ohio Lamp. She worked there for 43 years before retiring in 1980.

Surviving are her sister, Margaret Connell of Middleburg Heights, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents and two brothers, Earl "Ben" and Henry S. Wood.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Braceville Township Cemetery. Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
