Catherine U. Potts, 100, of formerly of Champion, died Sunday, April 8, 2012 at Cortland Health Care. She was born February 3, 1912 in Youngstown, the daughter of Roy and Helen (O'Connell) Cratsley, and had lived in Mahoning and Trumbull counties all her life.

Surviving are two daughters-in-law, Carol Jean Potts of Champion and Patricia Potts of Florida; two grandchildren, Rebecca Jean "Becky" Rogers of Warren and Don (Amber) Potts, Jr. of Howland; and four great-grandchildren: Jason and Zachary Rogers, and Anthony and Elizabeth Potts. Preceding her in death are her husband, John Potts, whom she married August 30, 1931 and who died December 2, 1966; two sons, William Carroll and Donald Edward Potts, Sr.; a sister, Helen Griffith; and an infant brother.

Her life will be celebrated with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012 at St. William Parish, 5431 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren, Ohio 44483, with Fr. Michael Balash officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown. Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church.
