Catherine B. Hope

HOWLAND - Catherine B. Hope, 91, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Shepherd of the Valley-Howland. Catherine was born November 21, 1922, the daughter of F. Edward and Grace (Miller) Bock of Warren Township.

Catherine was a graduate of Leavittsburg High School and Warren Business College. She was employed by Trumbull Supply & Manufacturing from the mid 1940's through 1970 and Trumbull Industries from 1970 through 2007. She was a member and officer of Youngstown Purchasing Agents Association and numerous other professional organizations throughout her career. She enjoyed bowling in local leagues and competed in State and National Tournaments. She was inducted into the Warren Women's Bowling Hall of Fame in 1999. She enjoyed all sports, especially football. Catherine was a member of the First Presbyterian church for more than 50 years.

Memories of Catherine will be carried on by son, Richard (Dorothy) Hope; granddaughter, Lauren (Brandon McIntosh-fiancAC.) Hope of Jacksonville, FL; niece, Carol Cole of Horseheads, NY; nephews: Charles (Eloise) Shafer of Punta Gorda, FL and Roger (Ester) Shafer of Mecca.

Proceeding her in death are her parents; sister, Margaret Shafer; and brother, Claire Hoffaker.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at McFarland and Son Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral service will be on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church in Warren with Rev. Rusty Cowden officiating. Final committal service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 256 Mahoning Ave NW, Warren, OH 44483.
