CHAMPION - Carol J. Potts, 74, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Liberty Health Care. She was born on April 9, 1940 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Ellen (Murphy) Saunders.

Carol was a Nursing Assistant for 10 years at Community Skilled Nursing Home. She was an active member of St. William Catholic Church where she taught CCD classes, member of Folk Choir, had a ministry of reading and helped with catering events.

Memories of Carol will be carried on by daughter, Rebecca Rogers of Warren; son, Donald (Amber) Potts, Jr. of Howland; grandsons, Anthony Parthemer of Niles, Jason Rogers of San Angelo, TX, and Zachary Rogers of Warren; granddaughter, Elizabeth Potts of Howland: sister, Florence Gerak of Hubbard; sister-in-law, Barbara Saunders of MN, plus many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald E. Potts, Sr., whom she married June 27, 1964 and preceded her on July 22, 2011; brothers, Joseph Saunders, Jack Saunders; sisters, Ruth Harris, Mary Kay Cornelius.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at McFarland & Son Funeral Home and one hour prior to Funeral Mass at the church. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. William Catholic Church, 5431 Mahoning Ave NW, Champion, OH 44483 with Fr. Michael Balash officiating. Services of final committal will follow at Champion Township Cemetery Chapel.
