Carmen Victoria Piñero-Rivera of Youngstown passed away on December 20, 2018 at 8:45 a.m. in her daughter’s residence. She was 79.
Carmen was born in Naguabo Puerto Rico on March 23, 1939, the daughter of the late Salustiano Arroyo-Piñero and Justina Rivera-Otero.
She retired in 2000 after numerous years employed in the packing department of a clothing manufacturer in New York.
Mrs. Piñero-Rivera was of Catholic faith. Carmen loved music, appreciated the beauty of flowers, was a phenomenal cook, and most importantly cherished the time she spent and the memories she made with her loving family.
Carmen is survived by 3 daughters, Virginia Suarez of New York, Sarah Suarez of New York, Nitza Camacho of Youngstown; 4 sons, Carlos Suarez of Cleveland, OH, Jesus Suarez of New York, Angel Suarez of New York, and Hector Camacho of New York; a sister Rosa Piñero of New York; 2 brothers, Angel Piñero and Juan Piñero both of New York; 24 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Carmen was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Antony Suarez; a brother, Manuel Rivera; a grandchild.

At Carmen’s request there will be no calling hours or a funeral service here in Ohio. A memorial service will be held at a later date in New York.
