Burhl Johnson

WARREN - Burhl Johnson, 83, formerly of Bristol, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015 at St. Joseph's Health Center. He was born on June 19, 1931 in Midway, West Virginia, the son of the late Bert and Pearl (Petry) Johnson.

Burhl retired as a grinder from Copperweld Steel in 1987 after 35 years. He was a member of Local #2243 USW Retirees. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, polka & country music, and liked to watch alot of news programs.

Memories of Burhl will be carried on by wife, Helen E. Johnson of Warren, whom he married May 2, 1957; son, David (Jan) Johnson of Barberton, OH; daughter, Pearl (Ron) Durst of Bristolville; daughter, Helen (Ed) Johnson of Bazetta; daughter, Charlene (Jeff) Henico of Warren; daughter, Rebecca Wegener of Warren; son, Daniel (Chulai) Johnson of Warren; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; brother, Carl (Marge) Johnson of Cortland; brother, Charles Johnson of Rome; sister, Laura Housel of Rome; and sister, Mary (Chuck) Myers of Marietta, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Opal Johnson-Maggio; 2 sisters; and 4 brothers.

Family will receive friends Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, Warren and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Services of final committal will follow at Pineview Memorial Park in Warren.
