Brice Nighswander

Howland Twp.- Brice T. Nighswander, 91, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He was born in Akron on November 25, 1922, the son of the late Elbert and Eva Denison Nighswander.

Mr. Nighswander worked at Packard Electric for 25 years and retired in 1985. He was in Civilian Conservation Corp and the Army Air Corp in WWII. He was a member of the Howland United Methodist Church, the Fifty Plus Club, American Legion Howland Post 700, and a member of IUE 717. Brice enjoyed football, music, swimming, traveling, and going south for the winter.

Memories of Brice will be carried on by his two children, James W. (Deborah) Nighswander of Warren and Mary E. Armeni of Liberty; three grandchildren: Joseph and Lauren Armeni, and Libby Heidenreich-Gamichia; 3 great-grandchildren: Myles, Gabriel, and Charlie Gamichia; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his beloved wife, Mildred, whom he married Oct. 24, 1953 and passed away in 2010, his parents, and a brother, Elbert.

Friends may call Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 7-9:00 PM at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home, Warren and one hour prior to the service at the church. Services will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Howland United Methodist Church with Pastor Matt Darrin officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Newton Falls Veteran Honor Guard after the service. Private final committal services will be conducted at Oakwood Cemetery.
