Blaine Edward Ressler, Sr., 90, of Warren, Ohio, died on August 10, 2012 at Windsor House in Champion, Ohio. He was the son of Lawrence E. and Laura E. (Simmons) Ressler, and he was born on March 22, 1922 in Robinson, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Ressler graduated from Greene Township High School in Commodore, PA the class of 1940. He started his career working in the coal mines in the Barrslope Mines in Dixonville, PA., moving to Warren he worked for ITT Grinnell retiring after 34 years of service.
Blaine was an avid sportsman, fisherman, and hunter. He was a lifetime member of the Leavittsburg Fish and Game Association, and a lifetime member of the Niles Western Reserve Protection Association. He was a musician, and played electric bass guitar in many local bands.
He was married to Betty Beer, and had one son, Blaine E. (Ann) Ressler, Jr. of Niles, OH, and one daughter, Ora Jean (Bill) Joseph of SC.
He married Phyllis (Huchok) in 1963, and is survived by one son; Lawrence Ressler of OH, a daughter; Margaret Ressler (Roger Cortez) of CA, a step-daughter; Vickie (Ivor) Todd of FL., step-son; Danny (Cindy) Phillips of Alabama. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was his wife Phyllis who passed away in 1991, his sister, Wanita Jacobson of Brookfield, and a step-daughter, Patty Phillips who passed in 2006, of Leavittsburg, OH.
Arrangements are entrusted to McFarland & Son Funeral and Cremation Services, 271 N. Park Ave. Warren, Ohio 44481. The family has requested there to be no calling hours or services.
