SOUTHINGTON - Betty Jane Dunbar, 86, died Monday, April 20, 2015 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born on November 19, 1928 in Kinsman, the daughter of the late Carl and Effie (Norton) Bates.
Betty was employed by the Oakwood Cemetery Association as a secretary for many years. She was involved with 4-H for over 20 years and bred and raised horses.
Cherished memories of Betty will be carried on by her husband, William Samuel Dunbar of Southington; daughter, Kim Marie (Ron) Lambert of Bristolville; three sisters, Edna Hauser and Shirley Duncan, both of Newton Falls, and Virginia Parana, of Warren; two brothers, Clarence Bates of Niles, and Carl Bates of Warren; two grandsons, Scott and Chad Lambert. She was preceded in death by 5 sisters, and 3 brothers.
Services will be held at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home, Warren, on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 6:00 pm with Pastor Kenneth Dodrill officiating. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Private interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.
