Barbara Ann Whaley

Barbara Ann Whaley, 73, of Warren, died Sunday, August 31, 2008 at Windsor House of Champion. She was born June 25, 1935 in Batavia, N.Y., the daughter of Wallace and Gertrude (Kreger) Rowcliffe.

Barb had worked in the collections department of Seven Seventeen Credit Union for many years. A member of St. John Lutheran Church in Champion, she was a friendly lady who enjoyed music, reading, old movies, a good conversation, and most of all, her grandchildren.

She will be sadly missed by her children and grandchildren: Bob (Jan) Whaley with grandchildren Matthew, Lauren, and Amanda, all of Fairport, N.Y.; Debi (Tom) Letson of Warren and granddaughter Timothea of New York, N.Y.; Joe (Sherry) Whaley of Cortland with grandchildren Michelle of Lake Tahoe, Calif. and Andy and Danny of Cortland; Dan (Traci) Whaley with grandchildren Katylynn, Michael, and Isabella of Sparks, Nev.; Becky (Greg) Butler with grandchildren Allie and Orry of Mission Viejo, Calif.; and extended family Jon (Jen) Sherman with children Josh, Taylor, Grace, and Garrett of Bristolville. She will also be missed by her brothers and sisters: Betty Cintorino of Marietta, Ga., Milda (Ron) Tillotson of Reno, Nev., Larry (Debbie) Rowcliffe of Oakfield, N.Y., and Gary (Jan) Rowcliffe of Leroy, N.Y. Preceding her in death are her parents and her husband, Robert Kenneth Whaley, Sr., who died January 21, 1981.

Services will be 6:30 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2008 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Paul Camp of St. John Lutheran Church officiating.
