Auriel Jibotian

Auriel "Lalu Sabotin" Jibotian, 75 of Warren, OH died at 1:25 AM, on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at Community Skilled Nursing Centre in Warren, OH. He was born on Sunday, January 12, 1930, in Warren, OH, the son of Pearl and the late Nick Jibotian.

Auriel was a Warren G. Harding graduate and lived in Warren for 60 years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1949. He retired as a Captain from the Warren City Fire Department.

Auriel was a member of Carroll F. Clapp Lodge. He won Ohio amateur golf tournaments, won 5 Public Links and 2 Senior Public Links Golf Tournaments. He was a professional boxer and boxed against Floyd Patterson.

He is survived by his wife Norma (Lindquist) Jibotian, whom he married in 1952, his mother Pearl Jibotian, a daughter Lynda (Kevin) Hughes of Simsbury CT, two brothers, Nick and John Jibotian both of Warren, OH, a sister Pearl Vehre of Vienna, OH and two grandchildren, Tiffany and Justin Hughes.

He was preceded in Death by his father, Nick Jibotian and a sister, Mary Finta.

Funeral Services will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Warren, OH on Thursday, February 17, 2005 at 1:00 PM, with calling hours one hour prior to the service in the chapel at Oakwood Cemetery.
