Arline E. (Brackney) Was, 85, of Warren, died 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at Windsor House in Champion. She was born Sunday, February 2, 1919, in Meadville, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Sylvia Ryhal Brackney.

Mrs. Was had been a member of First United Church of Christ in Warren. She enjoyed crafts, artificial flower arranging, and reading.

Surviving Mrs. Was are her daughter, Sherry (Dick) Berry of Champion; her son, Terry (Diane) Was of Lordstown; and two grandchildren, Gregory and Kimberly Was.

Preceding Mrs. Was in death are her parents and her husband, Kazmer F. Was, whom she married in 1951 and who died in 1970.

Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, July 8, 2004 at McFarland and Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio 44481, with Rev. Martin B. Hardy officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home 7:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday and 1:00 to 2:00 PM Thursday. Interment will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery. Material contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 840 Southwestern Run, Youngstown, Ohio 44514.
