Antonio D. Rodriguez

Antonio D. Rodriguez, 90, of Champion, died 6:05 PM Monday, October 17, 2005 at Forum Health - Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. He was born November 30, 1914 in Spain, the son of Antonio and Maria Dominguez Rodriguez, and came to the United States and to the Warren area in 1950.

Antonio worked in shipping and receiving at Van Huffel Tube for 30 years, retiring in 1980. In Spain, he fought with the Cavalry in the Spanish Civil War. He enjoyed walking, woodworking, gardening, and sharing vegetables from his garden with his neighbors and friends. His family was also a great source of pride and joy to him.

Antonio will be sadly missed by his wife, Francisca Martin Rodgriguez, whom he married May 3, 1945; three children: Elba (James) Jackson of West Bloomfield, Mich., Antonio M. (Elaine) Rodriguez of Southington, and Eloy Rodriguez of Champion; two grandsons: Mark (Kimberly) Rodriguez of Plainville, Conn., and Timothy Rodriguez of Columbus; and his neighbors and friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents, three brothers, and a sister.

Cremation will take place. Services are private.
