Anthony R. Delmont, 54, of Cortland, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, March 16, 2010 at University Hospital in Cleveland after a long, courageous battle with Leukemia.

He was born December 5th, 1955 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Alfred and Bridget (Danta) Delmont.

Anthony was employed by Trumbull County for 27 years, retiring as Maintenance Director in 2005. He was a long serving president of AFSMCE Local 2493 as well as the previous owner of the Italian Americans War Veterans #33 in Warren, Ohio.

A "jack of all trades", there was not much Anthony could not do. He was a culinary genius, and loved to entertain. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a avid fisherman. Anthony was larger than life, enjoyed making people smile and could instantly charm you with his infectious laughter and witty personality. A generous, one of a kind individual who once you'd meet, you would not soon forget. Anthony has greatly touched the lives of countless people.

Anthony is survived by: his fiancee, Lisa M. DeMattio of Cortland; three children, Anthony M. Delmont and his wife Mia, of Austintown, Lisa Delmont, of Austintown, Chad Delmont, of Warren; a step-daughter, Melanie Mozola (Allen) and her husband John,of Bay Village; three sisters, Sharrie Thomas and her husband Daniel,of Liberty, Darlene Delmont, of Youngstown, Marianne Cicoretti and her husband Larry, of Poland; and eight grandchildren, Anthony J. Delmont, Andrew Delmont, Molly Delmont, Megan Delmont, Emily Delmont, Abigail Delmont, Julia Mullins and Ethan Mullins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to thank the medical and entire staff of University Hospital and the Ireland Cancer Center in Cleveland, for their outstanding and compassionate care.

A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Northern Ohio Chapter, 23297 Commerce Park, Cleveland, Ohio 44122.
