Ann G. Hollis, 89, of Warren, died at home Sunday, February 22, 2009. She was born November 13, 1919 in Warren, the daughter of Frank C. and Doris (Everett) Gay, and had lived in the Warren area all her life.
A 1937 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Mrs. Hollis was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She was a 70-year member of First Presbyterian Church and its Kirk Club, and the Warren Women's Club. An avid bridge player and golfer, she had participated in many bridge clubs and golf leagues over the years.
Surviving are her children: Elizabeth (Alan) Knauf of North Bloomfield, and David A. Hollis of Rocky River; two grandchildren; one step-grandchild; three great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Donald W. Hollis, whom she married April 11, 1942 and who died July 15, 1989; a step-grandchild; and a brother, Alan E. Gay.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 26, 2009 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Rusty Cowden of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park. Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Material contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare League, 545 Brunstetter Rd. S.W., Warren, Ohio 44481.
