Youngstown, OH - Ann F. Baker, 86, died at Park Vista Retirement Community on Wendesday, May 4, 2005, following a brief illness.

Ann was born in Youngstown, Ohio on Septmeber 24, 1918, the daughter of Christopher and Edith (Shaw) Lightfoot.

She graduated from Boardman High School in 1935, and attended Youngstown Business School before going to work for an area dentist. While working for him she met her future husband, Dr. William N. Baker. They were married on December 30, 1939, and moved to Warren, Ohio, where she helped him start his dental practice. She worked in his office until she quit to raise their three children. Later in life, when their children were grown, she returned to work in the dental office.

She was predeceased by her husband in 1989, a month short of their 50th anniversary. Ann was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Warren, Ohio, for most of her adult life. In 1993, she moved to Park Vista, the Presbyterian retirement home where her mother had lived from 1967 to 1992.

Survivors include a daughter, Joanne B. Long, of Grantham, NH, two sons, William N. Baker, Jr., of Henderson, NV, and John C. Baker of Okemos, MI, three grandchildren, Heather Long, Trevor and Justin Baker, two great-grandsons, and a sister, Jessie Dee, of Orchard Park, NY.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Park Vista Retirement Community in Youngstown, Ohio at 10:30 AM Saturday, May 7, 2005, with Rev. Alan Hutchison officiating. Private inurnment will take place in the columbarium of First Presbyterian Church of Warren, with Rev. Burt McGlawn officiating. Memorial tributes may be made either to the Park Vista Life Fund, 1216 5th Ave., Youngstown, Ohio 44504, or to the Health Ministry of First Presbyterian Church, 256 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren, Ohio 44483.
