Angelo "John" Rapone

WARREN - Angelo "John" J. Rapone, Jr., 71, passed away in his sleep on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Signature Healthcare of Warren after an extended illness. He was born on January 6, 1943 in Warren and resided there all his life. He was the son of the late Angelo and Jean (Polliana) Rapone.

John was a 1961 graduate of Warren G. Harding and had attended Youngstown State University for three years. He changed careers and graduated from Cleveland Barber School and opened his own business as the first men's hairstylist in Warren. His passion was hairstyling and operating his barber shop. He was a life-long member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

He served his country in the Army National Guard for 6 years and received an honorable discharge in 1970.

Memories of John will be carried on by his daughter, Angela (Eric) Economos of Howland; grandchildren, Evan and Ella Rose Economos of Howland; Angela's mother, Dolly; two brothers, James (Lauretta) Rapone of Warren, David Rapone of Largo, Florida; and three nieces, all of Warren.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home in Warren. Fr. James Walker of St. James Catholic Church will be officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. John will be entombed next to his parents at Pineview Memorial Park in Warren.
