Angelique Kathaleena (Six) Cottrill of Niles was released from her pain and suffering from an extended illness Sunday, March 10, 2024, at 8:47 p.m. in her residence. She was 53 years old when her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, called her home.
Angelique was born in Warren, Ohio, on October 16, 1970. She was the eldest daughter of George David and Drew Dee (Scaggs) Six.
She was a 1989 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. Mrs. Cottrill furthered her education by attending Youngstown State University, majoring in Psychology.
After graduation, she worked for the Youngstown Vindicator as well as the Niles License Bureau. She met and married the love of her life, Philip Gale Cottrill, July 3, 1995. As much as she loved working, after her son, Patrick, was born in 2001, she left work and dedicated her life to her husband and raising her son.
Mrs. Cottrill was raised in The First Baptist Church of McDonald, Ohio. Throughout her life she continued to be guided by her beliefs and biblical principles.
Angelique was a gentle, caring, and loving individual and would sacrifice her time and energy helping others. Her greatest love was being with her family. She would spend Fridays at her sister’s house for family game nights and every summer at numerous family cookouts. She also enjoyed her family time camping, attending concerts and festivals, as well as parades, and watching the Hallmark channel. Angelique loved going to various zoo’s and visiting Waldameer. On holidays, she would always go above and beyond to make the holiday special for her family. She loved decorating for Halloween which was her favorite holiday.
Angelique was a passionate, dedicated, and devoted animal lover. She especially loved dogs, turtles, and giraffes.
She is survived by her son, Patrick Marc Cottrill of Niles; mother, Mrs. Drew Dee Scaggs Six of Niles; her 2 sisters, Shawntel Crystal Six Shank (Michael Shank), and Ashley Nicole Six both of Niles; maternal aunt, Sydney Karole Scaggs of Niles; paternal aunt, Zula Rose (John Wayne) Henderson from Rush Run Rd. W.V.; mother-in-law, Shirley Cottrill; 3 brothers-in-law, Russell (Sarah) Cottrill of Warren, Meredith “Matt” (Michelle) Cottrill of Warren, and Travus (April) Cottrill of Niles; a sister-in-law, Jamie (Adam) Cottrill of Niles; a half-sister-in-law, Adeana Carr of Glenville, WV. and numerous nieces and nephews, Tylor Six, Dakota Six, Hattie Shank, Makayla Cottrill, George Cottrill, Bailey McMillan; Kayla Zook, Matthew Cottrill, Noah Cottrill, Quenton Cottrill, Wyatt Cottrill, Cameron Coleman, Brooke Coleman, Lillian Coleman-Cottrill, Samantha Cottrill, Jaylin Brewer, Mark Brewer, and Iva Brewer. A great niece, Abigail and a great nephew, Jayson.
Angelique was preceded in death by her husband whom she married on July 3, 1995, Phillip Gale Cottrill, and who passed on June 16, 2016; her father George David Six; grandparents, George and Hattie Six, and Charles and Virginia Scaggs; aunt, Jamie Lynn Scaggs; her father-in-law, Harry Cottrill; and 3 nephews, Awstin Cottrill, Russell Cottrill Jr., and Bryson Linebaugh.
