Anagnostis "Angus" Grammatas, 66, of Warren, Ohio passed away on March 27, 2009 at University Hospitals of Cleveland. Born October 25, 1942 in Warren, Ohio, Angus spent his childhood in Brooklyn, New York with his parents Moskos and Evanthia Sideropolis Grammatas. Angus's renown cooking skills were learned while helping his parents operate their family restaurant.

Angus was drafted in the U.S. Army in 1964. He returned to Warren with his family and has made it his happy home for over 30 years. He was employed at Copperweld Steel, retiring when the plant was closed. Angus also worked at several local eateries over the years.

Angus belonged to Saint Demetrios Hellenic Orthodox Church of Warren, was a member of AHEPA Zeus Lodge 88, and was a 32nd degree Mason with Carroll F. Clapp Lodge #655, F. & A.M. of Warren. Angus loved the art of the deal and practiced it daily at the local flea markets. His passion was Greek Rebetika and bouzouki music and could always be found at the Greek festivals. He was an avid fisherman, loved boating, collecting, traveling and loved talking to people. Angus loved life and lived it to the fullest.

He is survived by his long time companion Kathe Bailey, their "babycats" Sinatra, Maggie and Opie; daughter Janet Agueda of Cortland, son Steven Grammatas of Warren; grandchildren Kyle, Tyler and Cortney Grammatas; brothers Grammatas 'Taya' of Baltimore, MD; Andrea, of Holiday, Fla., and Sophocles 'Soupy' of Brooklyn, N.Y.; sisters, Maria (Mike) Kotsatos of Akron, Efigenia Spolan and Evdocia (Vincent) Cartafalsa, both of Queens, N.Y., and Anna Papadoupoulos of Holiday, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Steven and Andoni "Tony" Grammatas.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 from 5-8 pm at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, in Warren. Masonic services will be conducted at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. AHEPA memorial rituals will be also be held during the evening. Services will be held at the end of visitation Wednesday evening where prayers, a eulogy and stories of Angus and his life will be shared. Entombment will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio at the convenience of the family. Material contributions may be made to Cats Are People, Too, P.O.
