Amy Beth Ramey of Warren, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 1:20 p.m. in her residence after a courageous battle with leukemia. She was 39.
Amy was born in Warren on March 31, 1977, the daughter of Timothy J. and Sheryl Ann Timko Polta.
She was a 1995 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. Following high school Amy devoted herself to a life of education. She first obtained her Bachelor's Degree in English and Secondary Education from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA. Amy then earned her first of two Masters Degrees, her first in Reading and Literacy from Westminster College and a second in Library and Information Science from Kent State University.
Mrs. Ramey was employed as a Hubbard High School teacher for 12 years. During her tenure she taught Advanced Placement and Honors English.
She was of protestant faith. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, writing, scrapbooking, and attended a local book club. Most importantly she was a loving mother and aunt; family meant the world to Amy.
She is survived by her husband, Jonathon C. Ramey, whom she married November 11, 2000; a daughter, Genevieve Grace Ramey; her father, Timothy J. Polta of Columbus; her mother, Sheryl Ann Polta of Warren; a sister, Paige (Jonathan) Cook of Leavittsburg, OH; a brother, Timothy Polta of Columbus.
Amy was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Albert Sr. and Pauline Timko; paternal grandparents, James and Helen Frances Polta; uncle and godfather, Robert Polta; aunt and godmother, Paulette Propst.

Calling hours will be on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 5 to 9 p.m. in the McFarland & Son Funeral Service 271 North Park Ave. Warren, OH 44481.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2016 in the First United Methodist Church of Warren 309 N. Park Ave. with the family pastor, Jeff Dennis. Everyone is to go directly to the church.
